Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Location: Washington, DC
Employment Type: Full-Time 
Compensation: $140,000-$150,000

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering comprehensive primary care while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Position Summary

The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan. Responsibilities include health assessments, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, preventive care, patient education, and care coordination to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide follow-up care.
  • Deliver preventive care, including annual wellness visits, immunizations, and health screenings.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current, unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner license (DC)
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC).
  • Current DEA registration (DC)
  • Current CDS registration (DC)
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of five years of primary care experience preferred (new graduates with strong clinical experience are encouraged to apply).
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving medically underserved populations.
  • Knowledge of value-based care and chronic disease management.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
