Job description

Job Summary: 

In this position, you will be responsible for our development and production infrastructure.  You will manage our DevOps and SecOps Engineering team, reinforcing and establishing our infrastructure as a service best practices, partner with the development team on establishing CI/CD pipelines, and manage the DevOps/SecOps delivery timeline. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Be fully accountable and manage the DevOps/SecOps project backlog, resourcing, and deliverables 

  • Provide Performance Management of the DevOps and SecOps Engineer Team 

  • Lead by Example – be hands on and design, configure, and automate the deployment of AWS development and production systems. 

  • Define and deploy systems for metrics and monitoring on the AWS platform - establish logging standards and metrics to allow for easily identifying, tracking, and debugging issues. 

  • Automate system outage notifications to development, support, end-users. 

  • Automate and maintain AWS security standards/protocols and best practices for cloud systems. 

  • Partner with development team on establishing AWS CodePipelines. 

  • Build tools and processes to support the infrastructure.  

  • Train and share AWS knowledge within the team. 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Expertise in AWS Services related to Security, Development Infrastructure, Production  

  • Ability to organize and facilitate meetings across various stakeholders. 

  • Knowledgeable in presenting technical concepts to a non-technical audience. 

  • Proficient in effectively planning and prioritize work activities. 

  • Experience in people management from setting goals to performance reviews 

  • Effectively provide an environment that encourages and develops new ideas from employees and management peers. 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 

  • At least six years AWS related experience required. 

  • At least two years in a people management role 

  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate or DevOps Engineer Professional. 

  • Advanced knowledge of the full software development life-cycle. 

  • Experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. 

  • Programming experience in Python, Javascript or similar language. 

  • Experience in containerized, distributed application deployment. 

  • Experience with Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Confluence to manage tickets across multiple projects. 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Property and Casualty Insurance domain knowledge 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

Salary: 

Starting at $180,000 annually. Candidate's skills, experience and abilities will be taken into consideration for final offer.
