Marketing Manager, California

POSITION PURPOSE

As the Marketing Manager, you will lead the agent marketing experience across California offices. This includes executing the overarching strategy and developing tailored marketing plans that support individual agents across social, print, events, and client acquisition and retention.

You will be deeply integrated into the business, with a strong emphasis on accountability, execution, and follow-through across statewide initiatives, ensuring a high standard of quality, creativity, and brand consistency across all marketing outputs. This role offers the opportunity to partner closely with the broader marketing organization on high-impact projects while gaining hands-on experience in strategy, operations, and growth.

The Marketing Manager will oversee California’s social media presence across key platforms—including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram—while developing programs that enhance brand reputation and visibility, with a focus on elevated, cohesive content and thoughtful presentation. This role will also lead agent onboarding into Douglas Elliman’s marketing ecosystem, ensuring adoption and effective use of best-in-class tools and platforms.

This position is highly focused on brand management, agent retention, content development, and social media strategy, while also supporting the real estate team with a range of marketing initiatives, including presentations, creative assets, and campaign materials. The position will oversee and manage two marketing coordinators.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and oversees agent marketing activities, including annual marketing plans, positioning, advertising strategy, and market research
  • Executes marketing initiatives from concept through completion, translating strategic direction into polished, client-ready campaigns across social, print, and digital
  • Coordinates and secures weekly advertising placements across local and national publications
  • Partners with the AVP, Marketing on the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance the agent marketing experience
  • Collaborates with the Art Director to ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints, tailored to the California market
  • Works cross-functionally with corporate and state marketing teams to assess, prioritize, and deliver on agent marketing needs
  • Establishes and maintains clear, well-communicated timelines for all initiatives
  • Ensures all projects meet expectations for quality, budget, timing, and strategic alignment
  • Applies a strong editorial eye to marketing materials, including the curation of elevated social content, themes, and cohesive brand presentation across platforms
  • Supports creative production across photography, videography, and digital assets, ensuring all deliverables align with brand standards and effectively position listings
  • Creates polished marketing presentations and materials using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Plans and executes events, open houses, and marketing activations to enhance property visibility and client experience
  • Manages vendors, budgets, and timelines across multiple concurrent projects
  • Conducts market research and competitive analysis to inform positioning and go-to-market strategy
  • Communicates progress, risks, and key milestones related to California marketing initiatives
  • Performs additional duties as needed
