Koester Construction is looking for a highly motivated and relationship-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. As the Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving the continued growth of our company by identifying new opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and positioning Koester Construction as the contractor of choice within our target markets. This position requires a proactive, customer-focused professional who excels at networking, relationship building, and collaborating across teams to support successful project pursuits.

Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities within target markets, regions, and/or industries.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, connectors, etc.
  • Generate qualified leads and feed opportunity pipeline.
  • Track market trends, upcoming developments, and competitor activity.
  • Coordinate client outreach efforts including meetings, presentations, and networking events.
  • Assist in developing strategic growth plans, quarterly/yearly business development Rocks, and budgets.
  • Maintain CRM systems and track business development activities and outcomes.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective and existing clients.
  • Build long-term relationships that lead to repeat business opportunities.
  • Participate in client satisfaction measurement and tracking.
  • Represent Koester at industry events, association meetings, and networking events.

Proposal & Preconstruction Support

  • Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to develop proposals, qualifications, and presentations.
  • Assist in preparing RFQs, RFPs, interview materials, and marketing collateral.
  • Participate in project interviews and client presentations.
  • Position the company competitively for future opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Commercial construction experience preferred
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business management, marketing, finance, or similar field desired
  • Willingness to travel in and out of state
  • High-level knowledge of construction required
  • Existing relationships within the commercial construction market are a plus
