Saint Peter’s offers more than 50 undergraduate majors as well as master’s level and doctorate program.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of CEEL, the Coordinator of Student Employment and Experiential Learning supports the day-to-day coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of the University’s Campus Jobs Student Employment Program and Credited Internships Program. The Coordinator assists with federally funded Federal Work-Study and non-federally funded student employment processes, credited internship coordination, supervisor engagement, student onboarding, compliance with applicable institutional and federal requirements, and the integration of career readiness into student employment and experiential learning experiences.
The Coordinator also provides direct career coaching to students and supports the development of coaching, training, and assessment practices that help students connect campus employment, internships, academic learning, and co-curricular experiences to career pathways and post-graduate goals. Perform related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the daily operations of the Campus Jobs Student Employment Program, Federal Work-Study, non-federal student employment, the Credited Internships Program, and other assigned career-connected courses or programs.
Assist in implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, workflows, training materials, and program resources to support consistency, compliance, equity, and quality across student employment and credited internship programs.
Serve as a primary point of contact for student employment processes, including student applications, supervisor approvals, onboarding, position descriptions, earnings monitoring, and coordination with Human Resources, Financial Aid, Payroll, academic departments, and campus supervisors.
Support compliance with Federal Work-Study limits, institutional policies, and applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and procedures.
Use a case management approach to support students participating in campus jobs, Federal Work-Study, non-federal student employment, credited internships, and related career-connected opportunities.
Coordinate Campus Jobs fairs, new hire orientations, supervisor training sessions, career readiness programs, employer information sessions, and related student employment or internship events.
Respond to questions from students, faculty, staff, supervisors, and employers regarding campus jobs, credited internships, onboarding, supervisor expectations, student concerns, and program requirements.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, supervisors, and employers to support quality student employment and internship opportunities, including position descriptions, job responsibilities, learning expectations, performance feedback processes, and assessment tools.
Provide individualized career coaching to assigned student cohorts, including career exploration, resume and cover letter development, internship and job search strategies, interview preparation, Handshake and LinkedIn profiles, professional communication, and workplace readiness.
Design and deliver career readiness workshops, classroom presentations, orientation sessions, supervisor training, and small-group coaching sessions aligned with NACE career competencies and institutional student success goals.
Maintain accurate employment, internship, employer, and student engagement data in Handshake, Paycom, and other relevant platforms; support data integrity and use data to recommend program improvements.
Support assessment practices that evaluate student learning, career readiness outcomes, student worker performance, internship experiences, supervisor satisfaction, and overall program effectiveness.
Prepare reports, summaries, and data analyses related to student employment, credited internships, career coaching engagement, employer participation, and student outcomes.
Develop and maintain student and supervisor handbooks, onboarding guides, orientation materials, forms, manuals, brochures, web content, and other communications related to student employment, internships, and career coaching.
Train and provide work direction to student workers, graduate assistants, temporary staff, or other assigned personnel, as applicable.
Represent CEEL and the University at internal and external meetings, events, and programs related to student employment, internships, career readiness, and employer engagement, as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES:
Coordinate the development and publication of departmental materials related to student employment, credited internships, employer outreach, and career readiness, including brochures, newsletters, web content, flyers, presentations, and related communications.
Maintain and monitor budget-to-actual reports related to student employment and other assigned program areas, as needed.
