Position : Product Development Engineering Technician

Location : Covington, GA

Duration : 3 Months

Total Hours/week : 40.00

Job Description:

  • The Technician contributes to completion of routine technical tasks, and requires some application of technical principles and concepts, as well as develops solutions to routine technical problems of specified Scope. Contacts are primarily with the immediate supervisor, team members, and other professionals in the business unit.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Completion of technical tasks.
  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, including laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Product technical documents, reports, and drawings (may include flow charts, block diagrams & schematics).
  • Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.
  • Scope equipment for use and complete qualifications
  • Works with their team to organize lab activities and functions, including calibration
  • Notifies their supervisor upon recognition of factors that may affect project results or progress vs. goals.
  • Develops prototype processes and test set-ups

Qualifications

  • A combination of equivalent education and experience, or a minimum of training beyond high school or secondary school in a technical discipline, with more than 6 years relevant experience, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Or a minimum of an Associate Degree with less than 2 years relevant experience
  • Capable of applying basic scientific principles and concepts, as well as developing solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
  • Uses standard and approved research and development methods
  • Requires application of basic/standard scientific principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Capable of developing solutions to assigned problems of simple to moderate scope & complexity, through the exercise of judgment within defined practices and policies, for determining appropriate actions.
