The Business Communications team is focused on maximizing the reputational benefit of what sets Voya apart and the commitments the business fulfills. Our holistic internal and external communication strategies span Workplace Solutions and Investment Management.


The Communications Senior Manager role owns end-to-end communications responsibility for a dedicated line of business, working alongside peer communications leads for Voya's businesses across Investment Management and Workplace Solutions. This experienced professional will report to the head of Business Communications as part of Voya's Brand & Communications organization.

Profile Description:

  • Serves as a trusted advisor and communications counselor to business line leader and members of their executive team, including product, distribution, client engagement and operations leaders.
  • Constructs andmaintains strategic communications plan and calendar that is aligned with business; oversees execution through media relations, executive communications internal and external messaging development, and select owned content creation via social media.
  • Complements and closely collaborates with Marketing, Brand and Communications colleagues, including those focused on Wealth Management, Investment Management, Employee Benefits, Technology, andCorporatecommunications; ensures brand consistency and alignment with other communications taking place.
  • Conductsmedia relations (with all types of press), preparesand briefsleaders for media engagements, and servesas media contact and spokesperson for the company when needed.
  • Devisesand draftsproactive and reactive messaging for use with media,employeesand other business stakeholder groups (including press releases, statements, Q&A, related internal content, social content); workswith internal partners to ensure accuracy and conformance to legal and other requirements.
  • Assistsin the management of large internal meetings, such as employee town halls.
  • Remains informed on peer communications landscape and communications best practices; proactively spearheads implementation of new communications approaches based on this knowledge.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 6-plus years of experience managing communications.
  • Exceptionaltrack recordof developing and implementing successful communication strategies.
  • Ability to independently manage large-scale projects/campaigns with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership, achievement, and excellence in a world-class organization.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior businessunitand Retirement industry leaders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Seasoned strategic thinker with excellent writing, listening, presentation, andcommunicationsskills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English,Journalismor related field.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that's fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
