Job description

GLG is seeking a supportive, collaborative, and tenacious individual to join our Industrials team supporting a diversified book of global client accounts. The Business Development Associate (BDA) will be responsible for generating and qualifying new business opportunities within key prospect and/or newly established logos,  regularly assisting with presenting our capabilities to clients, using our CRM to track and map client accounts, and work in collaboration with Business Development Manager to sell new GLG subscriptions.  

The Business Development Associate role on our Industrials team is effectively a supportive role that drives new business with a range of prospective clients.  

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

  • Research target accounts and contacts to identify key decision-makers and their specific jobs to be done/pain points.  
  • Conduct personalized outreach via email, cold calling, and LinkedIn to prospects at key new logos 
  • Engage prospects in conversations to understand their business challenges, needs, budget, authority, and timeline 
  • Articulate GLG's value proposition clearly and concisely, focusing on how it solves the prospect's problem 
  • Maintain daily/weekly activity targets  

Key performance metrics for the Business Development Associate include total outreach, connected outreach, establishing relationships with contacts at client firms, client contract value, increase in users of GLG's services at subscriptions sold, and adoption of new products and systems. The Business Development Associate will work closely with the Business Development Manager so the commercial success of the new logo team will be a metric in how you are measured. 

An ideal candidate will have the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated success selling information services and solutions via phone, email, and consultative selling 
  • The ability to quickly establish rapport with key decision makers in prospective firms  
  • Ability to work well independently and be self-motivated
