The Pen Bay Creative Learning Center has supported the local community since 1990, serving children ages 6 weeks to 4 years old. The team is known for longevity and providing care in a fun and supportive environment. The Pen Bay Creative Learning Center is seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher to join their team! The ideal candidate demonstrates a passion for working with children. This position will support an infant classroom. We offer a full benefits package at the Pen Bay Creative Learning Center, including paid time off, health/dental insurance, and retirement contributions.
Summary: This position consists of 36 hours per week, day shifts. The core schedule is 4 days per week, no weekends!
The Assistant Teacher role is responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in providing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate care and education for young children in cooperation with families, co-teachers, and administrators based on current standards of best practice in the field of early childcare and education.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: Completion of foundational level early childhood trainings or college courses preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification preferred. Current community/caregiver level CPR Certification and First Aid Certification preferred or must complete within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: Teaching/caregiving in group childcare/preschool setting preferred; Experience with the Creative Curriculum and NAEYC Accreditation preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Minimum age of 18 years of age.
