Job description

Artsy is seeking a driven, self-motivated Sales Development Associate to join our Gallery Partnerships team. This sales role is a unique opportunity to contribute to Artsy's digital transformation of the art world by driving growth and expanding our global gallery network.
As a Sales Development Associate, you will be responsible for identifying and reaching out to prospective galleries, pitching Artsy's value proposition, and generating new business opportunities. Your primary focus will be building a strong pipeline by engaging potential partners and scheduling meetings for our sales team.
This role sits at the heart of our Gallery Partnerships team, playing a key part in expanding our subscription services and driving revenue growth. By helping galleries connect with a broader audience through Artsy's platform, you'll directly support our mission of expanding the art market to support more art and artists in the world.
This is a hybrid role with office attendance required three days per week.
What You'll Do at Artsy:
  • Generate outbound leads via cold calling and email campaigns
  • Research and identify newly opened galleries, and galleries not currently known to Artsy to outreach
  • Follow up on marketing generated leads and conduct research to evaluate partnership opportunity and fit
  • Effectively communicate Artsy's value proposition in sales outreach to galleries to generate interest in the Artsy platform
  • Qualify warm leads for Sales Managers, and schedule product demonstrations with relevant prospects
  • Test, measure, and improve outreach campaign effectiveness and end-to-end lead management
  • Meet and exceed core KPIs: daily dials, meetings booked, and activations

This role is a fit for you if:
  • You are currently authorized to live and work in the US
  • This role will be based in New York City
  • You are interested in sales and being a part of a larger sales team
  • You thrive on challenges and driven to exceed goals
  • You are curious, interested in learning quickly and growing
  • You succeed in a fast-paced, metric-driven role and team
  • You are a compelling and persuasive communicator; comfortable managing communication and outreach across a large target client-base
  • You have strong time management skills
  • You have experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or other automation tools

It's a plus if you if you...
  • Can fluently speak other languages; French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, or Japanese
  • Have worked with Salesforce and/or Outreach
  • You have professional experience or a network within the commercial art world in Europe

This role is unlikely to be a good match if you....
  • You are not comfortable cold calling
  • Prefer to work outside of a team setting
  • Are not interested in a sales, target-heavy role
  • Are not interested in art or the art market

We know no one is a perfect match on paper, so if you're passionate about this role, please apply! We're excited to learn how your skills, experiences, and insights could make a difference.
What We Offer:
  • Opportunity to reimagine the art industry while working with a talented, diverse, international team.
  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Flexible time off: our culture of trust and empowerment allows employees to take the time they need away from work while still excelling in their roles
  • We are a global hybrid team: most employees work from our NYC, London, or Berlin offices 2-3 days per week. (In-person expectations vary by role)
  • Comprehensive healthcare & benefit options, including: medical, dental, parental leave, short- and long-term disability, Employee Assistance Program featuring free mental health support, 401k, commuter benefits, flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), financial wellness support & resources, and more
  • Professional development, including: mentoring, lunch & learns, regular training, 1:1 management, and an open feedback culture
  • Engaging opportunities and internal programming globally, to foster new relationships and build upon our collaborative community. Including: happy hours, holiday parties, global "All Hands" meetings, "Artsy Salon" (a yearly exhibition of our team's creativity), attendance to art world events, and more

The salary range for this role is $50,000-$60,000 annually. In addition, you will be eligible for the company's commission plan, with an annual VC opportunity of $20,000. Artsy is committed to equitable compensation practices, and your offer will depend on the relevant experience and skillset you bring to the team.
All compensation packages include meaningful Artsy equity and competitive health benefits. Please see our "What We Offer" above for more detail, or speak to our Talent Acquisition Team to learn more!
Please note that we do not accept applications sent by email. You should submit your application directly through our careers website!
