Facility Engineer

Waterloo, IA – Full Time

 

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Waterloo, IA. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will provide overall engineering and project management services related to implementing changes to Tractor Operations’ manufacturing facilities. Experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and/or Maintenance is recommended as well as knowledge of Emergency Notification Systems (ENS). This position will plan, coordinate and perform facilities and maintenance work for the facility infrastructure, production equipment and processes of moderate scope. Operate in a team environment. Assign, coordinate and review the work of support and contract personnel.

This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.


Duties:

  • Coordination, planning, and management of multi-discipline facilities and maintenance-based projects.
  • Hot work Requests and Red tag reviews.
  • Provide engineering design for the infrastructure for the facility, grounds and production equipment and processes through both internal and external resources using various engineering disciplines.
  • Provide project management of projects related to the facility infrastructure, production machines, equipment and processes that support the manufacturing and/or distribution operation. Projects complexity may integrate several areas of engineering and require limited management of outside design professionals and contractors.
  • Provide troubleshooting of the facility infrastructure and production equipment to support production, manufacturing, distribution and maintenance operations.
  • Provide life, safety and building code analysis and supports and implements programs within the organization to prevent injuries and illnesses. Assists in the identification and resolution of potential environmental, safety, ergonomic and health hazards.
  • Emphasis on ENS (Emergency Notification Systems), FM Global Insurance coordination, I.T. & network project coordination.
  • Work with non-mobile material handling equipment application, engineering, and installation.
  • Research market for qualified suppliers of materials and services. Seek competitive and negotiated sources for materials, equipment and services for maintenance and new construction projects assigned to engineers.


Requirements:

  • Experience in project management.
  • Cross competency experience with either Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, and/or Maintenance Engineering.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple skilled trades and contractors to achieve project objectives (5+ years).
  • Background in building infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, structural) (3+ years).
  • Understanding of engineering principles as related to manufacturing operations (3+ years).
  • Communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple active projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with personnel and middle management to communicate and coordinate project activities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Safety standards.
