About the Role: The Buyer plays a critical role by supporting procurement and supply chain activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, equipment, and services. The Buyer will work closely with production, engineering, project management, suppliers, and operations teams to support manufacturing schedules, inventory requirements, and customer commitments while maintaining strong supplier relationships and procurement best practices.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services required to support manufacturing and business operations
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and order status to ensure on-time receipt of purchased items
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, pricing, lead times, and terms to support purchasing decisions
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, project management, and inventory teams to identify procurement requirements and priorities
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order acknowledgments, delivery commitments, quality concerns, and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, pricing data, and procurement documentation within the ERP system
  • Assist in resolving receiving discrepancies, invoice issues, quality concerns, and supplier performance challenges
  • Support inventory management initiatives by monitoring stock levels and replenishment requirements
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation
  • Assist with supplier qualification, performance reviews, and ongoing supplier relationship management activities
  • Generate purchasing reports and provide procurement-related data to management as needed
  • May require occasional travel to supplier locations and industry events
  • Other duties as assigned


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred
  • One to three years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory control, or manufacturing experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
