Lead Agile Delivery Across a Complex Government Transformation
Are you an experienced **Release Train Engineer (RTE), Agile Program Manager, or senior Agile delivery leader** who excels at bringing multiple teams together to deliver complex, enterprise-scale initiatives? Do you enjoy creating alignment across business and technology teams, navigating dependencies, removing impediments, and improving delivery predictability?
CGI is seeking a **Release Train Engineer** to help lead delivery across a large, complex Agile Release Train supporting a **mission-critical government ERP environment**. In this role, you'll operate at the center of the delivery organization, connecting Agile teams with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, Security, PMO, vendors, and client stakeholders.
You'll have broad visibility across the delivery lifecycle and the opportunity to influence **planning, prioritization, coordination, execution, and release outcomes**. Location: Client site - Sacramento, CA

Your future duties and responsibilities:
How you'll make an impact
As a Release Train Engineer, you'll provide the coordination, facilitation, and delivery leadership needed to successfully execute across multiple Agile teams while maintaining alignment with broader program objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Establish, champion, and continuously improve Agile delivery practices that enable teams to efficiently deliver business and technical capabilities through **monthly release cycles**
* Lead and facilitate key **Agile Release Train (ART)** ceremonies, including **Program Increment (PI) Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART Syncs, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and PI Retrospectives**
* Coordinate delivery across multiple Agile teams, aligning priorities, dependencies, risks, milestones, commitments, and release objectives
* Partner closely with **Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, Security, PMO, vendors, and client stakeholders** to maintain alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle
* Identify, manage, and proactively address cross-team dependencies, impediments, delivery risks, and organizational challenges that could impact program commitments
* Drive transparency around delivery progress, capacity, risks, dependencies, milestones, and overall release readiness
* Foster a culture of **collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement** across the Agile Release Train
* Coach teams, leaders, and stakeholders on Agile principles, practices, and behaviors while adapting delivery approaches to support a **hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment**
* Help teams improve delivery predictability, flow, communication, coordination, and overall execution effectiveness
* Facilitate effective decision-making across technical and business stakeholders, including the resolution of delivery conflicts, competing priorities, and cross-functional challenges
* Provide program and leadership stakeholders with clear visibility into delivery status, emerging risks, dependencies, decisions, and opportunities for improvement
* Partner with program leadership to ensure Agile delivery activities remain aligned with broader **program governance, milestones, release commitments, and client expectations**
* Continuously evaluate delivery performance and refine processes to improve **release quality, team effectiveness, predictability, and business outcomes**
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
What you'll bring
* Bachelor's degree in **Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration**, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
* **5+ years of experience** serving as a Release Train Engineer, Agile Program Manager, Senior Scrum Master, or in a comparable Agile delivery leadership role
* Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating **multiple Agile teams simultaneously** within a complex enterprise environment
* Experience facilitating ART-level or large-scale Agile planning and delivery activities, including coordination of dependencies, risks, milestones, and release objectives
* Experience working within **hybrid Agile/Waterfall delivery environments** and adapting delivery practices to meet program, governance, and organizational needs
* Experience supporting **large-scale enterprise applications, ERP programs, technology modernization efforts, or complex transformation initiatives**
* Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead complex discussions, drive decisions, build consensus, and resolve conflicts
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage **technical teams, business stakeholders, program leadership, and client executives**
* Demonstrated ability to **influence without direct authority** and build productive working relationships across teams and organizational boundaries
* Strong organizational and program coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery challenges in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to translate complex delivery information into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* A collaborative, servant-leadership approach focused on **team empowerment, accountability, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement**

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $113,400.00 $198,400.00.
