Summary
We are seeking an experienced Application Developer I to design and deploy secure, scalable Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions within AWS GovCloud or equivalent high-compliance environments.
The ideal candidate will possess 7 to 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering with a strong background in DevOps practices.
Proficiency in Terraform is required, with additional familiarity in Pulumi being highly preferred.
This role focuses on optimizing VDI performance and reliability while enhancing the end-user experience for employees accessing these environments.
Collaboration with Security, IT, and Compliance teams is essential to ensure that the solution architecture aligns with organizational policies.
Responsibilities include developing infrastructure-as-code templates using best practices, creating detailed documentation for knowledge transfer, and providing training sessions for internal teams. Candidates should have hands-on experience implementing VDI solutions in regulated industries such as government or healthcare while adhering to compliance frameworks like FedRAMP or NIST 800-171.

Responsibilities

Prepare comprehensive documentation covering architecture design, implementation processes, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices for internal knowledge transfer.
Conduct training sessions for internal teams to enhance understanding of VDI operations and support strategies.
Engage in regular stakeholder review meetings to evaluate project progress and adjust strategies as needed based on feedback.
Assess emerging technologies that may improve existing VDI solutions while ensuring compliance requirements are maintained effectively.

Requirements
    • Level 4 experience (senior-level, expert-level individual contributor).
    • Strong background in DevOps and cloud infrastructure engineering. Proficiency with Terraform to build, manage, and scale cloud-based environments.
    • Experience delivering secure, production-ready systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    • Ability to work independently while partnering closely with security and compliance leads.
    • Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud deployments.
    • Familiarity with Pulumi infrastructure-as-code frameworks.
    • Prior experience implementing VDI solutions in regulated industries (government, defense, healthcare, or finance).
    • Working knowledge of compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, DFARS).
    • Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying secure VDI solutions, particularly within AWS GovCloud or equivalent high-compliance regions.
