Job description

TSC is seeking a highly motivated students who are pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Computer Engineering for a Hardware Engineering Fall Intern position in Plymouth, Massachusetts, supporting the Commercial Product Cell division. These students shall excel academically and exhibit a true passion for their work while demonstrating a positive attitude. During this experience, students convert theory into practice as they apply classroom knowledge to practical work situations, as well as gain knowledge and skills, which will enhance future coursework.
Our Interns have an interest in analysis and design of electromechanical systems that include RF/microwave sensors and including but not limited to radars/sensors, missile seekers, and communications systems. They will also have a strong desire to learn theoretical background in the following areas:
• RF/Microwave Systems/Subsystems
• RF/Microwave System/Subsystem Test Equipment
• Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol Networks
• Electromagnetic Fields & Waves Theory and Analysis
• Antenna & Antenna Array Theory & Analysis

Responsibilities:
The Interns primary role is to support the full-time engineering staff with their tasks. Intern's are given opportunities to get hands on, practical work experience to help them further excel at, appreciate, and understand the application of their college coursework. As the Intern's gains more experience and coursework they are able to take on more responsibilities and further aid the engineering staff.
Listed below are some of the job-related responsibilities for the Intern at TSC - CPC Operations.
• Supporting manufacturing production including testing and debug
• Data analysis and identify post flight or mission data processing
• Field test support and data collection
• Acceptance testing of RF/microwave components
• Assisting with electronic component test procedure development
• Circuit modeling & Solid modeling using computer aided design tools
• System modeling and design verification
• System integration and testing
• Statistical component failure analysis
• Low-voltage digital hardware testing and design
• Signal analysis using electronics testing equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, and Network Analyzers
• During their work experience, our co-ops will learn how to use many useful computer-aided design tools such as MATLAB, SolidWorks, Python and KiCAD.
Required Qualifications:
• Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited university and be in good academic standing
• Applicants should be in pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Hardware Engineering or related field
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Security Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Coursework or prior equivalent experience in basic engineering solid model analysis
• Coursework or prior equivalent experience in basic engineering circuit analysis
• Coursework or prior equivalent experience in basic digital logic
• Coursework or prior equivalent experience in basic heat transfer concepts
