The role

The Magnum Ice Cream Company Fall Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Interns will contribute to meaningful projects, build professional skills, and work alongside experienced leaders and teams across various business functions.

Internship opportunities may be available in several areas of the business, including:

Specific responsibilities, project assignments, and learning opportunities will vary based on the department and business needs.

What you'll be responsible for

Learning the production line layout and documenting equipment capabilities across 20+ lines.

Reviewing equipment information such as equipment ID, asset name, category, manufacturer, model, serial number, commission date, age, hours, status, location, and comments.

Capturing and organizing technical specifications, capability limits,rebuildinformation, and open questions in a consistent format.

Connecting with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and vendor contacts tovalidateequipment details and resolve data gaps.

Analyzing equipment catalogue andrebuildinghistory information toidentifymissing fields, inconsistencies, and opportunities for standardization.

Preparing clear summaries, visuals, or recommendations that help leaders understand line capability, reliability considerations, and future improvement opportunities.

We're looking for someone who

  • Is currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Has strong curiosity about how manufacturing equipment works and how technical specifications translate into real production capability.

Can organize detailed information, compare technical data across lines, and clearlyidentifygaps or follow-up needs.

Communicates well with operators, mechanics, engineers, and cross-functional partners.

  • Ability to travel for 50% of the internship to Covington TN facility

Is currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university.

Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrates initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.

Can work independently and as part of a team.

Possesses strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Is proficient with Microsoft Office applications or can quickly learn new systems.

Values collaboration, clarity, and low-ego ways of working.

Working environment

Interns may work in both office and manufacturing environments depending on the assigned department.

Some roles may require time on the production floor and exposure to manufacturing equipment, noise, temperature variances, and other industrial conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided when required.

Exposure to allergens such as dairy, eggs, tree nuts, coconut, peanuts, wheat (gluten), soybean, and cinnamon may occur in certain areas of the facility.
