Job description

Passionate about precision medicine and advancing the healthcare industry?
Recent advancements in underlying technology have finally made it possible for AI to impact clinical care in a meaningful way. Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.
The Senior Associate - Sequencing Strategy & Operations role provides critical operational, analytical, and tactical support to advance Tempus' precision medicine and Life Science Sequencing/CDx initiatives. The position is responsible for conducting market and competitive intelligence research, executing commercial marketing logistics, and helping draft client proposals alongside the business development team. Additionally, the role coordinates commercial operations across internal teams to improve daily processes and successfully bring new offerings to market.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support Tempus' business development (BD) team in developing partnership opportunities with key biopharma and academic research accounts to advance client conversations.
  • Draft and refine client-facing proposals, contracts, and written communications for the Life Science Sequencing/CDx business, working closely with the BD team to align materials with customer needs.
  • Execute commercial marketing activities for the team, including organizing nurture campaigns, managing conference/webinar planning logistics, developing collateral, and maintaining website content.
  • Source biotech and research customer targets by systematically researching companies, institutions, contacts, assets, and pipeline areas of interest.
  • Conduct strategic and market analysis using pharma and competitive intelligence to support the identification of key differentiators and the refinement of marketing materials.
  • Work collaboratively across commercial, medical, product, regulatory, and laboratory teams to help implement go-to-market strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes for customer engagement, outreach, retention tactics, and track team KPI fulfillment.
  • Partner with Operations, Account Management, Product & Engineering to report daily operational challenges, gather data for product enhancements, and assist in testing new features.
  • Coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with operational stakeholders across partner organizations.
  • Manage the tracking, documentation, and cross-functional execution of operational milestones for key strategic projects to help bring new offerings to market successfully.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of pharma, biotech, or consulting experience with a track record of strong execution.
  • Customer-facing experience, preferably in BD, client services, or consulting.
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience drafting client-facing materials or proposals.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, managing shifting priorities and incomplete information across multiple concurrent projects.

Preferred:
  • Exposure to oncology, diagnostics, CDx, NGS, or multi-omics a plus, but not required.
  • B.S./M.S. in a life sciences field a plus, not required.

CHI: $85,000 - $110,000
