Job description

ADAS Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented ADAS Calibration Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, testing, programming, and calibrating Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). You will ensure that vital safety features—such as automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep assist—are perfectly aligned to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications following collisions, windshield replacements, or suspension work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Calibrations: Execute static (shop-based target setups) and dynamic (on-road driving) calibrations safely and accurately.
  • Diagnostic Scanning: Conduct mandatory pre-repair and post-repair diagnostic scans to identify fault codes.
  • Read OEM Procedures: Research and strictly follow daily-updated OEM repair manuals and technical service bulletins.
  • Document Work: Maintain meticulous digital records, photos, and calibration certificates for insurance verification and liability protection.
  • Maintain Equipment: Keep highly sensitive calibration targets, laser systems, and scan tools clean, calibrated, and updated.
  • Quality Control: Road-test vehicles to verify that active safety systems engage exactly as intended.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in automotive electronics, collision repair diagnostics, or general mechanical repair.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong working knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and multi-brand scan tools (e.g., Autel, Bosch, Snap-On, or OEM software).
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to measure distances, angles, and levels down to the exact millimeter using plumb bobs, lasers, and digital levels.
  • Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (essential for dynamic road testing and mobile roles).
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and drive in varying weather conditions.

Preferred (But Not Required) Qualifications

  • ASE Certifications (especially ASE L4 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Specialist).
  • I-CAR Platinum certification or Car ADAS Solutions training.
  • Experience utilizing Car ADAS Solutions or similar calibration software platforms.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or business preferred.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or related administrative roles, ideally in a body shop or automotive service environment.

Compensation

Per pay review.
