JOB SUMMARY
As a Mechanical Product Engineer in Faribault, MN, you will:
  • Reduce product and process complexity through fastener standardization, torque-control strategy, and packaging commonization
  • Support product transfers by updating designs, BOMs, drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing-ready documentation
  • Partner closely with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure smooth transitions and production readiness
  • Improve product reliability, manufacturability, and consistency using strong DfMA/DFA principles
  • Lead engineering updates that streamline assembly, reduce variation, and enhance long-term product performance
  • Serve as a hands-on engineering resource during factory launches, NPI efforts, and cross-functional build events
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
  • Contribute to projects that impact communities in Northfield, Owatonna, Dundas, Medford, Lakeville, Farmington, Waseca, and Lonsdale, and the greater southern Twin Cities metro

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ experience supporting mechanical product engineering within manufacturing environments, including product transfers and production readiness
  • Proficiency with mechanical design updates, BOM management, drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation
  • Knowledge of fastener standardization, torque-control strategies, and packaging commonization
  • Strong understanding of DfMA/DFA principles to improve reliability, manufacturability, and assembly consistency
  • Ability to lead engineering changes that streamline assembly, reduce variation, and enhance long-term product performance
  • Experience collaborating with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and cross-functional teams during factory launches and NPI efforts
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills for addressing build issues, design gaps, and production challenges
