ALVEY TECHNICIAN - 3RD SHIFT

General Description

The Alvey Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of Alvey conveyor systems and plantwide electronic equipment. This role supports production by ensuring automation equipment runs reliably, safely, and efficiently. The technician must be a motivated selfstarter capable of learning quickly, especially regarding state and federal scale codes, and applying creative engineering solutions that improve production and reduce cost.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Alvey conveyor and automation systems, including sensors, controls, and communication devices.
  • Diagnose and repair printers and labelers (direct and thermal transfer).
  • Diagnose and repair industrial scales in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Install and troubleshoot metal detection systems.
  • Program and maintain HMI software (Wonderware, RSView).
  • Install and diagnose variablefrequency drives (VFDs) and servo drives.
  • Work with AC and DC electrical systems for equipment repair and installation.
  • Perform componentlevel electronics troubleshooting (preferred).
  • Support barcode printing and scanning systems.
  • Complete assigned projects and respond to production support needs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College or technical training preferred.
