They use programming languages and tools to create solutions that meet specific user or business needs. Developers can work on various types of projects, including web applications, mobile apps, and enterprise software. Their responsibilities often include writing code, debugging issues, collaborating with other team members, and staying updated with the latest technology trends.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a developer developer?

To thrive as a Developer, you need a solid understanding of programming languages (such as Java, Python, or JavaScript), software development methodologies, and a relevant degree or certifications in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, integrated development environments (IDEs), and frameworks or libraries specific to your tech stack is typically required. Job description

We are looking for a highly competent and highly motivated individual with automation experience in AWS and Kubernetes, to be part of our CICD platform team to help lead the design, implementation, and adoption of the technical building blocks that power our engineering organization's next-generation of CI/CD.

Our CICD platform team is responsible for paving the infrastructure path enabling our entire engineering organization to build features quickly and reliably across our organization.

Our focus is on building and supporting the automated solutions engineers will use for all of their CI/CD needs.

We build and manage capabilities to ensure Realtor.com's applications are delivered accurately, reliably, and with speed.

We use both open-source and vendor-based technologies to provide developers with the best possible CI/CD platforms and services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Architect and manage robust CircleCI pipelines, runner clusters, and self-service automation tools to streamline secure application delivery within cloud environments.

  • Deploy GitOps workflows across multiple clusters (utilizing ArgoCD) to automate the management of application lifecycles in diverse environments.

  • Partner with engineering squads to provide necessary tooling, automated pipelines, and technical expertise required for their success.

  • Design and manage production-ready AWS EKS infrastructure within a resilient, multi-region and multi-cluster architecture.

  • Manage intricate container scheduling and cluster scaling via Karpenter, ensuring the security, health, and availability of EKS environments.

  • Enforce rigorous security for EKS using Kubernetes Network Policies and IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA).

  • Architect and oversee Istio Service Mesh implementations to regulate traffic, implement mTLS, and protect communications between microservices.

  • Develop advanced routing, ingress/egress gateways, and traffic strategies such as circuit breaking and canary releases.

  • Mentor and evangelize DevOps best practices to engineering teams to improve maturity and scale our technical architecture.

  • Diagnose and fix sophisticated challenges in service mesh data planes, multi-cluster deployments, and distributed systems operations.

  • Integrate security, resilience, performance, and cost-efficiency as core pillars within every project and engineering initiative.

Education, Skills and Experience

  • 6+ years of strong cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, or DevOps platform experience.

  • 3+ years of dedicated hands-on experience working with AWS services (EKS, EC2, VPC, Route53, S3, IAM).

  • 2+ years of expert-level experience administrating production-grade Amazon EKS and containerized workloads.

  • 1+ years of production experience designing and managing Istio Service Mesh in highly distributed or multi-cluster environments.

Nice to have:

  • Have experience with CircleCI.

  • Hold certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.

  • Have hands-on experience or familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and GKE.
