Job description

Role:Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer - Trading
Client: Elite FinTech
Salary: $130,000-$200,000 + Bonus
Location: Houston
Overview
My client are seeking a knowledgeable Platform Engineer to work on their low latency Linux estate. The role sits between Platform Engineering, DevOps, Linux Systems Administration and SRE, and incorporates elements of all these positions. This is a chance to join a high-performing team in Houston, supporting a mission-critical infrastructure where performance and automation are the highest priorities.
The Role
You will build, design and architect automated solutions for scalable deployment, in private and public cloud infrastructure. You will work in both a project and BAU capacity, automating wherever possible to ensure the platform remains robust, scalable, and highly performant for trading operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Building, designing and architecting automated solutions for scalable deployment across private and public cloud infrastructure.
• Managing and evolving a high-performance, low-latency Linux estate.
• Working across the full engineering lifecycle, combining elements of DevOps, SRE, and Systems Administration.
• Driving an "automation-first" culture by identifying and eliminating manual tasks in both project and BAU work.
• Ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical trading systems.
Requirements
• Strong professional expertise in Linux systems administration and engineering.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, or Podman).
• Deep understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools.
• Strong scripting and automation skills, specifically in Python.
• Desirable Skills: IaC (Terraform, Helm, Pulumi, Bicep); Public Cloud (AWS or GCP); Disaster Recovery (DR); Block / Blob Storage; High Performance Computing (HPC).
What's on Offer
• Elite FinTech Environment: Work on sophisticated, low-latency infrastructure in the trading sector.
• Competitive Compensation: Strong salary range ($130k-$200k) reflecting the technical depth required.
• Texas Hub: Join a growing technical team based in Houston.
• Technical Ownership: A role that encourages architecting and building solutions from the ground up rather than just maintaining them
If you are interested in this Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer position and meet the above requirements please apply immediately.
