Position: Mine Engineer - Granite Creek
i-80 Gold Corp is seeking a motivated and proactive individual to fill the position of Mine or Geologic Engineer for our Granite Creek Mine, 6750 Getchell Mine Road, Golconda NV. The ideal candidate will be working closely with geology, operations, environmental, and management groups to complete the development and ramp-up of the Granite Creek Underground Mine and transition to full production.
Responsibilities:
The Mine Engineer will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and delivering engineering solutions to meet production, environmental, and health-and-safety goals. They will be expected to learn from as well as mentor other team members around them, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement. This may include but is not limited to:
  • Short-, medium-, and long-range planning for both open-pit and underground mining methods, including close integration with the production geology group to adjust designs and monitor reconciliation
  • Development, analysis, and implementation of capital projects such as permitting designs and infrastructure projects, as required
  • Development, analysis, and implementation of continuous improvement projects focused on production rates, mitigating health-and-safety concerns, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
The ideal candidate:
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Mine, Geological, or other related Engineering discipline,
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Ability to work on-site,
  • And is a self-starter looking to develop and apply their skill set to complex problems.
  • 5-7 years experience preferred
  • Applied experience with both surface and underground engineering and/or operations preferred
  • Applied experience with Deswik or other design/planning software packages preferred
