Desktop Support Technician

This role if for someone with prior desktop support experience (Hardware Replacement, Windows Upgrades, PC Refresh, etc.) with experience supporting WIN7 / WIN10.

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role with no benefits. Compensation is $32/hour. Location is onsite at the client's location in Portland, OR. If you agree to these terms, please proceed with your application.

Qualifications:
  • Key skills: Windows 7/10, Office 2013/O365, mobile device management.
  • Hardware would range from desktops/laptops/workstations/ thin clients.
  • Knowledge of ticketing platforms is key and knowledge of ITIL fundamentals is a plus.
  • Prior experience Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting WIN7/10 desktops & laptops.
  • Prior knowledge and experience supporting a client’s datacenter.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Can manage small project teams.
  • Any prior support knowledge of the Apple MAC platform is a big plus.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Must be friendly, eager to learn, self-motivated, and good under pressure.
  • Positive and professional demeanor; a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Has 3-5 years of experience
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance with computer hardware and software.
  • Resolve issues for clients via phone, in person, or electronically.
  • Recommend hardware and software improvements.
  • Track customer issues and resolutions
  • Accurately testing, identifying, repairing, resolving, and documenting end user technical issues regarding basic network/desktop/laptop support, Printers, iPhone, and LAN cable drops.
  • Swap-Out and troubleshoot software issues.
  • Reimaging computers/hard drives
  • IMACD functions including installation and decommission.
  • Backing up and restoring user data
