Overview
The Center for Disability Services (CDS) at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) is accepting applications for a full time Administrative Associate. This position reports to the Director regarding daily operations and performs a variety of administrative duties for the department.

Responsibilities
  • Code, tabulate, and assemble fiscal, statistical, and related data; collect and post information into computer or manual filing system; monitor purchase orders, follow acceptable/standard bookkeeping procedures, maintain department records/accounts.
  • Monitor use of departmental equipment and keep records accordingly.
  • Type standard forms, letters, brochures/materials for publication as well as other documents. Operate office machines (copier, scanner, fax, calculator, desktop computers, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Student Affairs on various outreach efforts, such as a regular newsletter, a consistent social media presence, and collaborative educational programming on campus.
  • Provide administrative duties to assist departmental support functions (e.g. monitoring timesheets, p-card reconciliation, purchase orders and requisitions, etc.).
  • Support CDS at campus-wide events, such as Orientation and Warhawk Welcome Week, as needed, as well as department-specific events.
  • Assist with exam proctoring for students with alternative testing accommodations.
  • Receive office visitors and/or telephone calls; answer routine questions; screen calls/callers; take messages and/or refer to appropriate personnel; pick-up, sort, and deliver mail.
  • Ensure optimal operation of office equipment, supplies, and inventories with preventive maintenance.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of general office experience. Experience in disability services is desired. Education can be substituted for experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of disability laws as they pertain to higher education, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and subsequent amendments, WCAG 2.1, FERPA, and the Fair Housing Act.
Experience using accessibility features of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation Services, or related field.
