JOB TITLE: Front Desk
DEPARTMENT: Front Desk/Operations

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
FLSA STATUS: Part Time/ Non-Exempt

Front Desk Position Summary:

The core function of the Front Desk role is to support the needs of our customers while being a representative of Session. It is essential in day to day operations as well as the overall customer experience. The role is responsible for welcoming customers into the building, getting them oriented for the duration of their visit, and addressing any needs that arise while maintaining a risk-averse environment as much as possible.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: [Note that this is not intended to restrict the tasks that may be assigned.]

  • Maintaining a clean and professional work environment
  • Operating a POS system to sell day passes/memberships, retail merchandise, and food and beverage.
  • Conducting belay tests for both top rope and lead (if qualified) as well as orientations on our auto belays.
  • Belaying for events such as birthday parties, school visits, scouting events, and others as necessary.
  • Performing cleanliness and safety checks in all parts of the facility.
  • Completing your on-shift checklist duties and submitting your checklist.
  • Speaking to our program offerings.
  • Giving facility tours/orientations.
  • Regular attendance and schedule adherence
  • Communicate, teach, and enforce Session’s safe policies and strategies
  • Proactively observe the gym and immediately address any safety or conduct concerns
  • Offer consistently excellent hospitality and customer service
  • Welcome new Session users and maintain positive and professional rapport with members
  • Quickly develop and maintain knowledge of Session’s many membership offerings and perks, classes and programs and promotional deals
  • Facilitate customer check-ins, sales, and bookings
  • Restock and organize retail offerings
  • Laundry and some cleaning
  • Other duties as assigned

  • CPR/First Aid Certified
