Job description

Soft Services creates body skincare solutions grounded in efficacy, backed by science, guided by design, and created to meet the needs of overlooked skin concerns.

We're looking for a brand-focused Designer who can help shape how Soft Services shows up across campaigns, key launches, evergreen marketing, and select physical touchpoints.

You'll move between concept and execution: developing visual systems, building campaign assets, supporting art direction, preparing production-ready files, and helping translate the Soft Services identity across digital and physical channels. Working within a small team, you should be both conceptually sharp and hands-on, with the taste, organization, and follow-through to move work forward. This role is ideal for a designer who loves brand storytelling, communication design and the tactile experience of bringing a brand to life. Working within a small team, you should be both conceptually sharp and hands-on, with the taste, organization, and follow-through to move work forward.

What You'll Do
  • Develop brand and marketing design assets across campaigns, launches, evergreen marketing-content, email, organic social; and select physical touchpoints-retail collateral, events, mailers, and gifting.
  • Partner closely with Design/Creative, Brand Marketing, Product Development, and Operations on both concept development and execution.
  • Create visual systems and campaign concepts from research, reference gathering, mood boards, and sketches through final artwork and production files.
  • Bring a strong social and commercial lens to design work, especially for Instagram, creator, email, and always-on marketing formats.
  • Support art direction through pre-production thinking, creative concepts, creative briefings, and visual direction for smaller campaigns and creator projects.
  • Maintain consistency across Soft Services' design touchpoints while helping the brand language evolve with clarity, form, and function.
  • Contribute to packaging and physical design projects, including print-ready files, vendor handoffs, and production details, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Manage multiple timelines at once while maintaining strong organization, attention to detail, and design quality.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional design experience across brand, campaign, marketing, social, content, or related creative work.
  • A portfolio that shows strong graphic design foundations, including typography, layout, color, composition, and brand systems.
  • Experience in an agency, studio, or brand environment where process, concept development, and execution are all part of the work.
  • Strong design instincts and the ability to understand, articulate, and protect what feels on-brand.
  • A sharp eye for culture, beauty, design, fashion, and the visual language of social platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Comfort developing creative concepts, gathering references, building decks or briefs, and preparing polished design files.
  • Experience with art direction, content creation, shoot planning, or creator briefs.
  • A highly collaborative working style suited to a small, fast-moving team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently without losing momentum.
Nice To Have
  • Familiarity with packaging, print production, dielines, materials, or vendor-ready production files.
  • Experience designing for beauty, skincare, body care, CPG, fashion, or other design-led consumer brands.
  • Motion, video editing, or 3D visualization experience in tools such as After Effects, Blender, Dimension, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Airtable, Google Workspace, Dropbox, Bridge, Klaviyo, Shopify, or related creative and marketing tools.
Success Looks Like
  • Soft Services' brand expression feels consistent, elevated, and distinctive across design deliverables.
  • Brand and evergreen design work moves forward with increasing independence and fewer senior-team bottlenecks.
  • Social and marketing creative has a clear point of view and feels commercially aware without losing the brand's restraint.
  • Cross-functional projects are executed with clarity, strong communication, and polished handoffs.
  • Packaging and physical design support is thoughtful, detail-oriented, and well integrated into the broader brand system.

Benefits

  • Salary and equity compensation package.
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance.
  • Competitive paid time off policy.
  • Annual Soft Services store credit.

Operating Principles
  • Efficiency: We're moving fast, and in order for things to feel more exciting than hectic, we create efficiencies whenever possible.
  • Be solutions-minded: If you encounter a problem, you find a solution so it doesn't set our collective momentum back.
  • Diversity wins: Diversity in race, culture, experiences, age, gender, and more are what keeps us learning and innovating. Our company is better for it.
  • 'Big Picture' thinking: Never lose sight of the larger goal when completing smaller tasks. Analytical skills and highly critical thinking are expected.
  • Obsession with details: Every project, big or small, lives and dies in the details.
  • Putting in the work: Everyone on the team is ready to roll up their sleeves and put in the hard work. No one is above any task. Going the proverbial "extra mile" is hugely appreciated and rewarded.
  • Open communication flow: Pay close attention when taking information in. Engage. Never be afraid to ask questions. Over communicate rather than under communicate. If you've had a breakthrough, or if you're struggling, let the team know. Positive reinforcement is encouraged.
