Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Civil Designer in Lakeland, FL.
Required:
  • Civil 3D HIGHLY preferred although may look at an Autocad experienced candidate with great 2-D skillset
  • Technology Diploma or equivalent preferred, or additional experience
  • Minimum of 5 years land development design experience or equivalent relevant experience
  • Design, drafting and modelling skills in 2D and 3D environments
  • Working knowledge of civil design components and materials
  • Ability to take instruction and work independently
  • Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and codes as required for civil design.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of design principles related to civil design. Water, Sewer, Storm, Roadways, Grading, Other Site Design Elements, and General arrangements
  • Understanding or experience with layout development, county codes, WMD, and FDEP regulations
Preferred:
  • Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges
  • Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges
  • Adapts and embraces change.
  • Working knowledge of GIS a plus
  • Working knowledge of drainage software a plus
Job Duties:
  • Work independently to apply design principles for Land Development
  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings of Land Development Projects
  • Modifying existing projects based on project scope.
  • Knowledgeable of various civil design requirements - roadways, waterline, lift stations, general land development requirements for permitting.
  • Participate in project review meetings with project team.
  • Participate in office and site safety training and inductions as needed to support office and site activities
  • Perform field verification, and provide field support during construction
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project work sites (including remote sites) as needs and opportunities arise.
