Salary: 55k - 65k

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creativeLandscape Estimator/Designerto join our team. This hybrid role is responsible for both the design and cost estimation of Commercial and/or luxury residential landscape projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong design skills, in-depth plant and materials knowledge, and the ability to prepare accurate and competitive project estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

Design:

  • Meet with clients to gather requirements and understand project goals.
  • Create conceptual and final landscape designs using CAD
  • Select appropriate plantings, hardscape materials, lighting, and irrigation systems.
  • Develop detailed design presentations, including 2D/3D visualizations, plans, and mood boards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to ensure design intent is achieved during execution.

Estimating:

  • Analyze design plans and specifications to prepare accurate material and labor cost estimates.
  • Solicit quotes from vendors and subcontractors for materials and services.
  • Prepare and submit professional bid packages and proposals.
  • Track project budgets, change orders, and ensure estimates align with actual costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • 25+ years of experience in landscape design and/or estimating.
  • Proficient in landscape design software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular).
  • Strong knowledge of local plant species, horticultural practices, grading, drainage, and construction methods.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

  • Knowledge of local zoning and permitting requirements.
  • Experience with sustainability or native plant design.
  • Familiarity with CRM or project management software.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with regular field visits to project sites and client locations.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend meetings depending on client schedules.
