Job description

Nuclear Supervisor

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Radiology Director and Radiologist, the Nuclear Supervisor is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the supervision of Nuclear Imaging services. Commitment to the delivery of competent patient care supported by lines of communications and coordination with physicians, patients, and co-workers. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. The Nuclear Supervisor will be available for emergency on-call procedures as required, or set forth. Recognizes the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible. The Coordinator of Nuclear Medicine is a college graduate or equivalent with satisfactory completion of a formal Nuclear School of Medicine or equivalent. CPR Certification required. Must have certification as Nuclear Medicine Technologist from the ARRT or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) from the NMTCB.
