Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the direct movement, scanning, and tracking of materials and inventory within the warehouse to ensure efficient order fulfillment, inventory control, and proper storage. This includes operating a variety of material handling equipment, assisting other departments as needed, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This role requires accuracy, adaptability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to safely operate in a fast-paced setting.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Operate various material handling equipment such as but not limited to stand up/sit down forklifts (propane/electric).
  • Safely transport inventory and finished goods to designated locations within the warehouse.
  • Prep warehouse areas for order processing.
  • Pick, palletize, wrap, and stage orders in designated outbound areas.
  • Verify and confirm counts of received goods from transfer trucks and containers.
  • Match packing slips to purchase orders and receive inventory into the warehouse management system.
  • Tag and label received goods properly for put away and tracking.
  • Assist order processing and production departments with inventory needs and delivery of completed orders.
  • Load and unload trailers at designated docks.
  • Process daily assignments accurately and meet production and quality standards.
  • Ensure all equipment is returned, stored, and charged at end of shift.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, sweeping floors and managing waste as necessary.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Help unload containers and support other departments when required.
  • Maintain positive, professional communication with coworkers and leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
  • The ability to work in a physically demanding warehouse environment - continuously lifting and moving up to 50-100lbs.
  • The ability to meet fast-paced productivity goals and standards.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be physically and mentally able to work the assigned shift.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs consistently.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in varied warehouse conditions including heat, cold, dust, dirt, noise, vibrations, and occasional fumes.
