What You will Do:

The Electric Drives Control Engineer shall be responsible for all tasks and deliverables related to heavy vehicle propulsion and auxiliary drive control system development, including control algorithm design, software requirements development, model-based implementation, integration, verification, and validation activities. The Drives Control Engineers shall work closely with Systems, Software, Power Electronics, and Verification teams to develop, maintain, and enhance heavy vehicle drive control functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation of Existing Drives Control Features
  • Integration and Baseline Merging of Existing Drives Control Features
  • Full Lifecycle Development of New Drives Control Features
  • Develop plant models using MATLAB/Simulink that accurately represent various power converter topologies

 What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related STEM discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience working on HIL system design and real-time simulation.
  • The Drives Control Engineers shall possess expertise in:
    • Drives and Power Electronics
    • AC Traction Drives
    • Induction Motor Control
    • Permanent Magnet Motor Control
    • Converter/Inverter Topologies
    • Field-Oriented Control (FOC)
    • Torque and Speed Control
    • Drive Protection Functions
  • Strong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for model-based development tasks.

Work Requirements:

This role is considered an on-site position located in Erie, PA.

  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
