Job description

The Director of Interior Design leads the enterprise-wide interior design strategy for hospitals, ambulatory care sites, and administrative facilities. This role establishes and maintains interior design standards, oversees brand integration within the built environment, and ensures alignment between interior spaces and clinical operations. The Director leads internal teams and external consultants in delivering cohesive, high-quality, code-compliant environments that enhance patient care, support staff efficiency, and promote long-term asset performance. Estimated salary range for this position is $129932.84 - $168912.69 / year depending on experience.

Degrees: 

  • Bachelors

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Licensure as a Registered Interior Designer (RID) preferred. NCIDQ certification strongly preferred. LEED, WELL, and evidence-based design credentials are considered a plus.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of interior design experience, including at least 5 years in healthcare or complex institutional settings and 3 years in a director or management role. 

  • Proven track record managing multi-site, multi-million-dollar design portfolios. 

  • Expert knowledge of FGI Guidelines, ADA, NFPA, and Florida-specific code and licensure requirements. 

  • Deep fluency in evidence-based design and its application to patient outcomes, infection control, and staff efficiency. 

  • Demonstrated ability to operationalize brand identity through physical space. 

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and FF&E specification platforms. 

  • Strong executive communication, budget management, and consultant oversight capabilities. 

  • Familiarity with sustainability certifications (LEED, WELL). NCIDQ certification strongly preferred; licensure as a Registered Interior Designer (RID) also preferred. 

Minimum Required Experience: 10 or more years
