Job description

Savannah River Mission Completion is seeking Senior Electrical Engineers to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

The Electrical Engineer in the Design Services organization implements solutions to engineering challenges to meet standards set by the Department of Energy (DOE) for the Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) project.


  • Plan and develop conventional engineering and scientific solutions for technical problems or project objectives using SRMC engineering methodologies and requirements
  • Assume technical responsibility for one or more phases of a program and/or ownership for unit operations within processing facilities
  • Provide project engineering and facility engineering support
  • Develop Single Line Diagrams; Controls Schematics;  Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connections, Grounding, and Heat Tracing design
  • Perform technical calculations
  • Select and size electrical equipment
  • Develop electrical equipment procurement requirements, specifications, and data sheets
  • Perform vendor drawing reviews, design reviews, and commercial grade dedication (CGD)
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide innovative improvements to the existing processes
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university with relevant professional engineering experience

  • Knowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices to develop appropriate outputs.
  • Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards including but not limited to IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA.
  • Experience with DCS and PLC interfaces.
  • Proficiency with 2D MicroStation v8 CADD.
  • Ability to perform walkdowns.
  • Experience with ETAP and Arc Flash Hazard analysis.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a changing environment with multiple demands and priorities.
  • Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energyโ€™s Savannah River Siteโ€™s Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor. The SRMC Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Siteโ€™s Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations and associated production and disposal facilities.  https://www.savannahrivermissioncompletion.com
