Job Title: Conceptual Design Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Conceptual Design Electrical Engineer with over 10 years of experience in the field. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. A Professional Engineer license or an advanced degree in engineering is considered a plus. Knowledge of control systems design and experience with ETAP software and calculations would be advantageous but are not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and overseeing electrical component replacement designs, including scope documents, schedules, budgets, estimates, single line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, layout, and circuitry design.
• Provide technical direction to other engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Assist in the checkout and startup of systems when necessary.
• Communicate with outside vendors and establish relationships beneficial to project success.
• Exercise significant discretion in making independent decisions with some consultation with management.
• Utilize knowledge of engineering design principles, especially in power plant electrical system design.
• Provide technical direction in the preparation of design details, drawings, and calculations.

Essential Skills

• 10+ years of experience in a related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles, preferably in power plant electrical system design.
• Experience providing technical direction in the preparation of design details, drawings, and calculations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license or advanced engineering degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of control systems design is a plus.
• Experience with ETAP software and calculations is a plus.
• Experience using AutoCAD and CAD Overlay is a plus.
• Self-starter with a high level of initiative.
• Ability to effectively plan, organize, and execute work.
• Ability to handle design on large projects with limited supervision.
• Strong relationship-building skills with plant staff, design engineering staff, and vendors.

Work Environment

This position is based on-site at Vogtle, where you will work closely with project teams to ensure successful project execution.

This is a Contract position based out of Waynesboro, GA.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Waynesboro,GA.
