Job Description
AECOM is seeking a strong bridge design leader for the position of Bridge Design Project Manager in the rapidly expanding Transportation Engineering Group in in Oakland, Ca.
Specifics of the role include:
  • Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large-size projects.
  • Strong emphasis on complex bridge design (including rail and metro transit) projects and deliveries.
  • Leads technical client relationships and plays a major role in selling.
  • Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise.
  • Leads technical business development work.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Approves and signs off on work.
  • Leader in one or more areas of technology.
  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule a to meet requirements on large, complex projects.

As a member of this team, you will be a professional in dealing with colleagues of all levels and disciplines. This position is an opportunity to work within an established and successful group that offers a diverse range of projects, technical challenges and career development opportunities.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • California state PE license or ability to attain reciprocity in possessing another U.S. state PE license within one year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 12 + years' experience in bridge design and project deliveries.
  • Extensive project design experience with complex bridge project work in CA. along with related structures project detail deliveries.
  • Strong & proven success with business development and client relationships. This is a SELLER/DOER opportunity.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
  • Strong, proven and documented bridge project management experience & success and skills in California or regional project deliveries.
  • Proficiency in software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, and MDX
  • Knowledge of 3D finite element software such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, SAP2000, etc. is a plus.
  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software)
  • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable Codes.
  • Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools.
