We specialize in a full range of new and retrofit construction for industrial, food processing, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-fuel projects.
Job Summary
Shambaugh is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer who will design Fire Protection Systems for all types of projects. You will design layouts using Revit, Bluebeam, and BIM and create hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for pre-fabrication.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for designing and the layout of Fire Sprinkler systems
  • Read, analyze and interpret contract documents, including all disciplines of construction drawings and specifications
  • Perform and review complex hydraulic calculations to ensure system performance and compliance.
  • Write, plan, coordinate, and make presentations to individuals and groups
  • Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Provide fire sprinkler designs with Revit, Bluebeam, and BIM
  • Lead 3D BIM coordination, managing interference with structural elements (joists, sleeves, inserts) and MEP systems.
  • Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred (Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management Degrees), or equivalent experience:
  • Fire Protection design experience preferred.
  • NICET certification preferred.
  • Revit, Bluebeam, and BIM experience preferred.
  • Experience with Data Center, Mission Critical, and Semiconductor industry projects preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record
  • Excellent communicator, self-motivated individual with great organizational skills

  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
