JOB PURPOSE

The Molding Production Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the production operations of the manufacturing facility. This role aims to ensure efficient, high-quality, and safe manufacturing processes while meeting production targets. The manager will develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement, foster a skilled workforce, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards. Ultimately, the goal is to drive operational excellence and enhance the overall performance of the manufacturing team, contributing to the company’s growth and profitability.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Molding Production Manager at PTI, you will play a vital role in leading production operations and supporting the overall success of the Manufacturing Floor.

  • Hire, train, and evaluate production staff. Conduct performance reviews and make recommendations regarding promotions, discipline, or terminations.
  • Make decisions regarding daily production schedules, workflow processes, and resource allocation, including overtime, to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Implement changes to manufacturing processes and introduce new technologies or equipment as deemed necessary to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Enforce safety protocols and quality standards, with the authority to halt production in case of safety violations or significant quality issues.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Materials Management, and Program Management, to ensure alignment on production goals and resource needs.
  • Prepare analyze and present reports on production performance, quality metrics, and operational improvements to senior management.
  • Authorize the request for vacation and personal leave, ensuring alignment with company policy and scheduling needs.
  • Approve the documentation of tool write-ups and oversee the tracking of their return.
  • Monitor machine performance and assist in troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime.
  • Implement production improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Implement new technologies and best practices in injection molding, assembly, and decorating operations.
  • Assist in changing initiatives within the manufacturing process, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM) to optimize production processes.
  • Explore options for recycling and reusing materials in the injection molding process.
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with industry regulations and standards, including ISO certifications.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for optimizing production processes, fostering teamwork, and ensuring the highest standards

      Qualifications

      • 7+ years of plastics injection molding experience
      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
      • 7+ years of manufacturing experience
      • 5+ years of leadership experience, managing teams and production processes
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Proven ability to manage projects and teams effectively
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
      • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
      • Innovative problem-solving abilities with strong data interpretation skills and the ability to make decisions with data
