Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Honolulu.
Job Summary/Responsibilities:
The role will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget of small to large-scale design projects across the project lifecycle - from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration. Responsible for planning and managing project staffing requirements, reporting project performance, and identifying and addressing scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects. Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to:
  • Manages one or more complex projects, involving the full spectrum of engineering services offered by AECOM.
  • Provides project and technical task management for one or more simultaneous projects.
  • Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and makes recommendations.
  • Reviews contracts, prepares fee proposals, and project execution strategies.
  • Manages sub-consultant scope, fees, deliverable, and performance.
  • Good report and proposal writing skill.
  • Adheres to and enforces company and project policies.
  • Client Relationships: Ability to assist in developing new client relationships and to strengthen existing client relationships. Ability to identify, understand and focus on clients' key requirements. Be the primary liaison between AECOM and the client.
  • Team leadership: good team leadership skills. Self-starter, energetic, pro-active. Provides guidance to subordinate managers or mentorship to junior team members.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • BS in Civil Engineering plus 6 years of project management related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with computer aided design (AutoCAD).
  • Experience with ArcGIS.
  • Professional Engineer Registration with the ability to attain a Hawaii Professional Architectural Registration within 12 months.
  • Previous experience in leading projects with multi-disciplinary teams to required quality, timeliness, and budget parameters. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in managing design-focused projects.
  • Previous experience in maintaining client relationships and expectations
  • Advanced knowledge of planning and design processes, construction documentation, construction administration, and code requirements
  • Experience managing concurrent projects in various stages of development and managing multiple project types with an emphasis on design, sustainability, and innovation
  • Innovative problem solver with excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills and a proven ability to manage people and projects through strong demonstrated organizational skills
  • Strong skills in the full suite of MS Office applications
  • Participate in selected marketing and business development opportunities in support of the sales team
  • Experience with Federal, State of Hawaii, City and County of Honolulu, and/or design-build projects is a plus.
  • Good presentation and communication skills in English.
  • Strong Team player.

Additional Information
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Hawaii. The selected candidate must be available to work in Hawaii on a scheduled basis.
