Job description

As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn't changed - we're here to stop breaches, and we've redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We're proud to work for a mission-driven company leveraging AI to transform the way we work. CrowdStrikers drive their careers through flexibility and autonomy while also being expected to contribute to a culture of responsible AI adoption, experimentation, and innovation. We use an AI-first mindset as a force multiplier to proactively and continuously accelerate execution, build expertise, uncover insights, and solve complex problems. We're always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.
About the Role:
As Vice President of Product Design, you will define and lead the design vision, strategy, and operational excellence behind CrowdStrike's world-class product design organization. You will serve as the executive design leader across the full Falcon platform - setting the bar for craft, systems thinking, and user experience at scale. At CrowdStrike, product design is an equal partner with product management and engineering, and this is a rare opportunity to own design at the executive level in a company where design has a genuine seat at the table. You will lead a multi-disciplinary organization spanning design operations, design systems, research, and product design - partnering as a true peer to VP-level leaders across Product Management and Engineering to shape how the world's most advanced cybersecurity platform looks, feels, and works.
What You'll Do:
  • Own and articulate the overarching product design vision and strategy for CrowdStrike's Falcon platform, serving as the executive voice of design in C-suite conversations and ensuring design is a competitive differentiator that drives business outcomes
  • Partner directly with the Chief Product Officer, VP of Engineering, and senior GTM leadership to influence roadmap, product strategy, and platform direction while building a design culture defined by craft excellence, user empathy, innovation, and accountability
  • Lead the organization's AI transformation strategy for design - defining how AI tools, workflows, and capabilities are adopted, governed, and scaled across teams, while overseeing design systems governance and implementation across all products
  • Establish research, analytics, and design intelligence frameworks that connect design decisions to user outcomes and business impact, including executive-level measurement dashboards that communicate design's value to senior leadership and the board
  • Build and scale a high-performing organization of design managers, senior designers, researchers, and operations professionals through strategic hiring, talent development programs, career growth frameworks, and organizational design that enables speed and cross-functional effectiveness
  • Drive operational excellence by owning the design tooling ecosystem, annual budget planning, resource allocation, and scalable processes that maximize team effectiveness and maintain quality without bureaucracy
  • Shape CrowdStrike's external design brand by representing the organization at industry events, with customers, and in the broader design community while championing design thought leadership

What You'll Need:
  • 15+ years of product design experience with a demonstrated track record of design leadership at scale, including 8+ years of executive or senior design leadership experience leading managers of managers and large, distributed design organizations
  • Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to set and execute a design vision that drives measurable product and business outcomes, with deep expertise across the full design discipline - UX, visual design, design systems, research, and design operations
  • Executive presence and exceptional communication skills with proven ability to influence at the C-suite level, align cross-functional stakeholders, and inspire large organizations around a shared design vision
  • Strong data-informed approach to decision-making with experience building measurement frameworks that connect design to business impact and demonstrated ability to lead AI adoption and transformation within a design organization
  • Deep AI expertise with experience designing and shipping AI-powered features and tooling in enterprise product design environments, including understanding of AI/ML interaction patterns, conversational UI, agentic workflows, and the unique UX challenges of deploying AI at scale in production systems.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling design organizations in fast-paced, high-growth environments, including experience with organizational development, team structuring, and change management at scale.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Ability to work from a US office 2+ days per week.

Bonus Points:
  • Experience leading product design at a top-tier enterprise software, cybersecurity, or SaaS company with deep familiarity with complex, data-dense product environments such as security operations, analytics platforms, or developer tooling.
  • Knowledge of the cybersecurity industry and the unique UX challenges of security operations workflows, combined with published thought leadership, conference speaking, or recognized presence in the broader product design community.
  • Experience partnering on M&A activity including evaluating design maturity of acquisition targets and leading post-acquisition design integration, with familiarity with AI-driven design tooling and forward-looking perspective on agentic workflows.
  • Background in organizational development and design culture building at scale with experience managing large design operations budgets and vendor relationships.
