Compensation Range: $90,200.00 - $104,800.00

Position Summary

The R&D Engineer II is responsible for executing research and development activities that support prototype evolution, concept validation, and mechanical analysis for emerging technologies. This role independently leads moderate-scope engineering investigations and applies structured methodologies, including Design of Experiments (DOE), to evaluate performance and inform design decisions.

The position collaborates cross-functionally with Product Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Sales to translate experimental results into actionable product and process improvements. As a key technical contributor, this role enhances testing rigor, documentation quality, and overall R&D effectiveness.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute moderate-scope research tasks, engineering analyses, and new product development projects.
  • Develop and implement test plans, ensuring structured validation of designs and concepts.
  • Apply Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies to evaluate performance and optimize outcomes.
  • Analyze test data and document results to support engineering decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Support prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and data collection activities.
  • Perform CAD modeling, drawing updates, and engineering documentation.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and design evaluations.
  • Prepare and present technical findings to engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and assist with experimental setup and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Adhere to company policies, including code of conduct and attendance expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)

Minimum Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in R&D, product development, or mechanical design

Certifications (Preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • SolidWorks Professional certification
