Under the direction of the Internship Supervisor, the Intern will be exposed to a range of experiences within the realm of juvenile justice executed in a trauma sensitive and treatment oriented philosophy while maintaining public safety. The Tulsa County Family Center for Juvenile Justice works with interns and educational institutions to design internships and practicums that meet their specific needs based on educational level and requirements. Successful applicants are expected to submit a Curriculum vitae or resume with their completed application.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Complete and submit an internship agreement which identifies goals and experiences needed to fulfill academic internship requirements.
  • Devote full attention and effort to work and responsibilities while performing their internship.
  • Engage in conduct which affords respect, courtesy and preserves the dignity of clients and others.
  • Comply with all laws, rules, regulations, Family Center for Juvenile Justice policies and procedures that apply to any aspect of internship.
  • Serve in a manner which contributes to and supports a safe and healthful environment for clients and others.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
No less than high school education and up to three months' work experience in addition to any requirements imposed by the educational institution of referral.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
