About the Role:
As an Engineer at DeSimone Consulting Engineering, you'll contribute to the structural design process across a variety of projects. Working under the guidance of senior team members, you'll perform structural analysis, assist in design development, and support project delivery from concept through construction. This role offers hands-on experience with technical design, site observations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams while building a strong foundation for professional growth.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform structural design and analysis using software tools such as Revit and Rhino.
  • Model building foundation and superstructure systems and design structural elements.
  • Prepare structural drawings, technical reports, and documentation.
  • Conduct field observations and inspections under senior guidance.
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain clear records of all design calculations and work products.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates, clients, and management to ensure project success.
  • Support project planning and contribute to internal operations, including timesheets and compliance with safety standards.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a related field, from an ABET-accredited program and one (1) or more years of relevant coursework in structural analysis and design
  • Internship experience with a structural engineering firm with exposure to mid to high-rise building projects
  • Coursework in concrete, steel, wood and masonry design
  • Must pass basic engineering skills test

Minimum (Required) Skills:
  • Ability to learn local and national building codes required for project work
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues
  • Ability to work in Rhino and Revit
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong people and team skills

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
  • Master of Science Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 1-2 years of experience on mid to high-rise building projects
  • EIT certification

This is a salaried, exempt position with an anticipated base salary range of $63,600-$78,581, depending on experience and qualifications. Most candidates are typically hired near the midpoint of the range, ensuring a balanced and equitable approach across our team.
