Position Summary

As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead the Manufacturing Engineering department to ensure products are designed and produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and with high quality. You will be accountable for driving Design for Manufacturability (DFM), optimizing production processes, and delivering measurable value through cost reduction, productivity improvements, and innovation. You will act as a strategic partner to Design Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to enable seamless new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities

Lead and Develop

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of manufacturing engineers.
  • Set clear goals, KPIs, and accountability for value-added contributions.
  • Develop and execute the manufacturing engineering strategy aligned with business objectives.

Collaborate Across Functions

  • Work with Design Engineering to apply DFM principles early in the design phase.
  • Partner with Production to resolve manufacturing issues and improve throughput.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on sourcing decisions that impact manufacturability.

Drive Process Excellence

  • Design, validate, and implement efficient manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
  • Lead lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Optimize plant layout, workflow, and material handling for maximum efficiency.

Manage Tools and Technology

  • Oversee design, procurement, and maintenance of tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Evaluate and implement automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Deliver Value

  • Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Achieve measurable improvements in productivity, scrap reduction, and cycle time.

Ensure Compliance

  • Maintain accurate process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.

Lead New Product Introduction

  • Own manufacturing readiness for new products, ensuring smooth transition from design to production.
  • Develop robust process validation and risk mitigation plans.

Own 5S Implementation

  • Implement and sustain 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) across the production floor.
  • Conduct regular audits and training to maintain workplace organization and visual management.
  • Drive cultural adoption of 5S as a foundation for lean manufacturing.

Monitor and Improve

  • Track and report on key metrics: cost savings, efficiency gains, quality improvements.
  • Use data-driven analysis to prioritize improvement projects.
