What You'll Do
As a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems, assemblies, and products. Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Project Management, Sales, Service, and customers, you'll transform business and customer requirements into reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and components utilizing 3D CAD software 
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation 
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate designs and support engineering decisions 
  • Conduct DFMEA, risk assessments, root cause analyses, and safety evaluations 
  • Develop and evaluate concepts for manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost effectiveness 
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, engineering requirements, safety regulations, and customer specifications 
  • Support project schedules, engineering milestones, and deliverable completion 
  • Maintain engineering documentation, revision control, and design records 
  • Provide technical support to internal teams, suppliers, and customers 
  • Support prototype development, testing, and product validation activities 
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams on product launches, production improvements, and engineering changes 
  • Participate in design reviews, validation activities, and risk assessments 
  • Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) 
  • Work with suppliers regarding component selection, technical requirements, and design reviews 
  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA), structural evaluations, and engineering simulations as required 
  • Support value engineering, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Assist with troubleshooting field issues and customer technical concerns 
  • Support installation, startup, and commissioning activities as needed

Requirements

What We're Looking ForWe're seeking an innovative and detail-oriented engineer with strong mechanical design experience, excellent analytical abilities, and a passion for developing world-class engineered products.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline 
  • Minimum three (3) years of mechanical design engineering experience 
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent 
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T 
  • Experience performing engineering calculations, design validation, and engineering analysis 
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Experience with motion control systems, automation equipment, industrial machinery, or capital equipment 
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, structural analysis, and machine design 
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems 
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and production environments 
  • Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience 

Your Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position working Monday through Friday. Occasional travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, and manufacturing locations may be required to support projects, technical reviews, installations, and commissioning activities.
