Description
We are looking for a Roadway Design Engineer in Lexington, Frankfort, or Louisville KY with the opportunity to work on signature projects and collaborate with other design staff.  HMB is part of a transportation family ranked #14 in the country with unlimited growth potential.  We have national capabilities but maintain a local feel.

Key Responsibilities
     Support the completion of roadway design tasks through collaboration with project teams and mentorship from senior engineers
·       Work closely with Project Managers to ensure designs meet schedule and budget expectations
·       Gain valuable experience with the opportunity to grow into a Project Manager role through mentorship and increasing responsibility
·       Prepare timely and accurate design drawings, details, presentations, and construction documents in accordance with applicable standards
·       Assist in the preparation of permit applications and submittal packages for review by regulatory agencies
·       Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, right of way staff, utility providers, project stakeholders, and contractors under the direction of senior staff
·       Support the development and tracking of project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure project objectives are met
 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in all technical aspects of roadway design
  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer preferred
  • PE Certification is preferred
  • Detail-oriented individual with strong technical and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing and standard industry software.
  • Works well in multidisciplinary team environments and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral presentation and written communication skills
  • A self-starter that can take initiatives with key stakeholders
