SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivatedSenior Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys transforming concepts into production-ready solutions.

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing innovative products from concept through production while collaborating closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Field Service teams. You will have the opportunity to influence product direction, improve manufacturing efficiency, and contribute directly to customer satisfaction and business growth.

What You'll DoProduct Design & Development
  • Design and develop 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing documentation usingSolidWorks
  • Create production-ready shop drawings, flat patterns, BOMs, and assembly documentation
  • Manage engineering projects from concept through release, including timelines and deliverables
  • ApplyDesign for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve efficiency, quality, and cost
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and failure analysis as needed
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations (UL, ADA, NSF)
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Sales, Product Management, and Manufacturing teams throughout the product development cycle
  • Support Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering teams with process improvements, tooling, fixtures, and production optimization
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to source and integrate new components when required
  • Assist Field Service teams in troubleshooting product and installation issues
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Drive product enhancements through design changes and engineering change requests (ECNs/DCRs)
  • Develop concepts and renderings to support customer presentations and marketing initiatives
  • Contribute ideas that improve product functionality, manufacturability, and customer experience
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of product design experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong proficiency inSolidWorks or similar 3D parametric CAD software
  • Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication processes
  • Understanding of manufacturing workflows, CNC requirements, and ERP systems/BOM structures
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience withAutodesk Inventor or other parametric modeling platforms
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such asMacola
  • Experience supporting custom or configurable product development
  • Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools
