Job description

The Role:
The senior manufacturing engineer is responsible for leading the development and optimization of manufacturing processes through the evaluation of products and production methods. This role provides technical leadership to both engineering and operations teams by driving process improvements, designing and implementing manufacturing processes, and deploying automated or semi-automated equipment and advanced manufacturing technologies. The senior ME may oversee the work of interns and technicians and will lead cross functional teams.
Your Responsibilities:

  •  Analyze existing manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement and implement optimized processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste and lower production costs.
  • Design and implement of specialized tooling and fixtures for manufacturing.
  • Create programs for manufacturing equipment
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including work instructions, process flows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and repeatability in the manufacturing process.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to establish quality standards, conduct process audits and implement corrective actions to maintain adherence to quality requirements.
  • Work with the design engineering team on product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Lead cross functional teams in equipment and process implementation and continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with health and safety regulations and implement safety initiatives to create a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team and suppliers to identify suitable materials and processes by considering cost, availability and performance requirements.

Our Requirements:

  • BS Degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, industrial technology or equivalent highly preferred but experience in lieu of education is acceptable.
  •  Minimum 7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading successful cross functional teams
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: assembly, CNC machining, metal forming and fabrication or foundry operations
  • Experience creating and interpreting technical drawings in 2D/3D drafting software including layouts and product drawings.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in MS Office and specifically in Excel
  • Working knowledge of ERP and MES systems
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of certification standards (ISO, TS, etc.) a plus

Pay Range: 105,000 - 125,000
