Our Structures team specializes in developing engineering solutions for short to medium span bridges on a national scale. About the Role:

As a Structural Design Engineer at Contech, you will play a critical role in collaborating with our Engineering and CAD teams to prepare engineering and drawing submittals for customers. Your responsibilities include:

  • Product Integration: Assist the field sales team in seamlessly integrating Contech's products into site plans, focusing on Contech's precast concrete bridge products. This involves preparation of engineering drawings and calculations, review of project plans, development of project solutions, and providing technical advice.
  • Structural Analysis and Design: Perform structural analysis and design of bridge elements, including superstructures, foundations, and retaining walls. Provide essential technical support to the manufacturing team as needed to ensure the proper fabrication of Contech products.
  • Coordination: Coordinate efforts with field sales and manufacturing teams to address questions and concerns related to the proper design, manufacture, and installation of Contech's products.
  • Specifications: Maintain a working knowledge of governing specifications covering Contech products and contribute to the development, writing, and modification of such specifications.
  • Technical Papers and Literature: Assist in writing and developing technical papers and product literature necessary to support, promote, and train stakeholders on Contech products.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with knowledge and certifications in the civil/structural engineering field. Attend industry trade shows, continuing education courses, and seminars as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, strong preference for degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis.
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2-years of experience working on civil engineering projects.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Excel required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, finite element analysis, and/or structural analysis software is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to develop and maintain strong team and client relationships.
  • High level of analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
