Position Overview

This is far more than a traditional project management position.

DRMP is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager (PE) to become a key leader within its nationally recognized Alternative Delivery Team, overseeing some of the most technically challenging and financially significant transportation Design-Build projects in North Carolina and throughout the Southeastern United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams from pursuit through final project delivery while partnering with some of the nation's premier heavy civil contractors on major highway, interstate, interchange, bridge, and transportation infrastructure improvements.

The successful candidate will combine technical engineering expertise, executive project leadership, client relationship management, and business development to help expand DRMP's Alternative Delivery practice.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Strategic Project Leadership

  • Direct major transportation Design-Build projects from procurement through final delivery
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout planning, design, construction support, and closeout
  • Develop project execution strategies that balance schedule, budget, quality, and risk
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects meeting owner expectations while maintaining profitability

Design-Build Pursuits

  • Participate in pursuit strategy and proposal development
  • Partner closely with national and regional construction firms
  • Support technical proposals, interviews, pricing strategy, and pursuit planning
  • Serve as engineering lead during procurement efforts
  • Help secure new Alternative Delivery opportunities throughout North Carolina and the Southeast

Client Leadership

Develop trusted relationships with:

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License

  • 5+ years leading NCDOT Design-Build projects
  • Demonstrated success managing Alternative Delivery transportation projects
  • Strong knowledge of NCDOT standards and procedures
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets and schedules
  • Strong client management abilities
  • Experience collaborating directly with heavy civil contractors
  • DBIA Certification is highly desirable
