Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Location: New Orleans, LA

We are looking for talented Assistant Project Manager candidates to assist in the areas of construction management work including but not limited to procurement and buy-out, scheduling, document control, change management, and supervision. The successful candidate will work closely with our Project Manager and Supervisors. The Assistant Project Manager will establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Sub-contractors, and Suppliers.

Below are the qualifications we are looking for:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Support multiple job sites depending on project size and needs
•    Capable of reading and understanding project plans and specifications
•    Capable of performing detailed quantity takeoffs and scope breakdowns 
•    Assist with the review and analysis of subcontractor proposals to determine low responsible bidder
•    Assist with the preparation, and monitoring of subcontracts, contract purchase orders, and change order requests
•    Assist with review of subcontractor and vendor billing requests, including field verification of work in place
•    Review submittal data for conformance with the project documents
•    Identify discrepancies between field conditions, drawings and/or scope of work and prepare RFIs
•    Perform field measurements and verify site conditions
•    Perform inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
•    Assist with the development of, and regular updates to, the project schedule and
•    Assist with project related meeting coordination, agenda preparation, and issuance of minutes
•    Prepare and support daily/weekly reports and progress documentation
•    Fundamental knowledge of computer operations and the following applications: (Procore, Microsoft Project or P6 scheduler, Microsoft Office 360 Apps, and Bluebeam)
•    Promote the growth and development of client, subcontractor, and Woodward relationships following the Woodward philosophy
•    Ability to perform duties by following Woodward’s core values (Reliability, Courage, Teamwork, Determination, and Humility

Qualifications and Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field preferred (an associate degree with relevant commercial construction experience will be considered) 
•    2–3 years of direct commercial construction experience in a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager role, preferably with a commercial general contractor
•    Proficient in project management tools and systems (e.g., PROCORE, eCMS, Microsoft Project).
•    Excellent organizational and strategic thinking abilities.

•    Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds
•    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
•    Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed
•    Ability to operate a motor vehicle
•    Ability to travel to off-site locations in a timely and efficient manner
